Original Seeds Store is a worldwide genetics company. It was started in Newport, in South Wales in 1992 under the name Sensible Light Systems and Seeds. They specialized in providing hydroponic equipment to the UK. Back then, they were the first company to offer the notorious and legendary elder Skunk 1 to customers in the British Isles. Now they are more specifically a seed supplier, with operations in the UK, Canada, and Spain to name a few. They ship within Canada but also to Europe, Australia, the UK, New Zealand, America, and many other places including South Korea, Vietnam, Puerto Rico, and even Greenland. They don’t, however, appear to ship to anywhere in Africa or the Middle East. They do bulk as well as personal orders, and provide free shipping on orders over two hundred dollars depending on location. They carry seventeen different high CBD strains, at least thirty feminized strains, at least thirty autoflowering varieties, and a host of regular seeds. They have a primer on forty-eight different common strain types that they normally carry, as well as sections devoted to specific seed houses, strains from the West Coast, high THC strains, medical weeds, and high yield varieties. They come in packs ranging from three seeds to two hundred, getting cheaper the more you buy. They say they have been a trusted seed bank for more than thirty years.
This seed bank’s website is really easy to navigate. They organize their seeds into multiple different categories to facilitate browsing by category. One thing that’s frustrating about it though, is that many of their hyperlinks lead to places on the page where it’s not exactly apparent what they’re referring to. If there is a Read More link that sends a user to a header that looks like it belongs at the bottom of the page, customers are not going to understand that they need to keep scrolling to reach more information. Breaking up your website gives readers something to look at, but if they become accustomed to seeing your page bookended with a certain color, that color is going to be confusing to use in the middle of the site. Another frustrating thing is that, due to their habit of putting the most popular twenty-five or thirty strains on a subsection homepage, instead of the full list, it’s virtually impossible to get a full sense of just how many feminized, autoflowering, and photoperiod seeds they have access to. If you are looking for a specific strain, it’s easy enough to use their search function to find it. But if you, like us, are looking to browse and get a sense of just how large their collection is you’re out of luck. Nevertheless, this is a quality site with a great amount of information and what looks like a high quality selection. While their site might be visually noisy, they’ve got enough experience to really know what they’re doing!
