MTG Seeds has been running out of California since they began as a genetics company for medical cannabis farms back in 1996. Indeed, it looks like they consistently win competitions for high CBD strains, particularly in the last ten years. They are most focused on finding out how to best develop cannabis strains that can fight migraines and related inflammatory pain. All their seeds are organically produced. They claim to have improved the mold resistance of the genes they work with, even above and beyond other breeders. Their seeds are mostly regular unsexed, with no separate category for feminized seeds. Their categories are CBD, Award Winners and Best Sellers, Limited Edition, and Testing. When we checked out their site there were fifteen strains in the Limited Edition section that included Citron, Afghan Sour Kush, B.B. King, Fire Bomb, Godfather Kush, and Strawberry Mind Warp. There were twenty-eight in the Award Winners and Best Sellers section, and four in the CBD section. Some of the seeds have file names at the top of their descriptions that link to scientific testing results of their average cannabinoid and terpene profiles. It takes a while to figure out that MTG Seeds doesn’t actually sell their products on their website, they merely advertise them. Their product descriptions are very short, with not much but the strain’s lineage, phenotype dominance, flowering time, and suggested planting space and harvest month. They also have a yield estimate described by a word instead of a gram value, which is a little ambiguous. MTG’s website has an events section, which is rare for a cannabis seed company. They also have a section devoted to videos and photos of their products in bloom.
But the locations section on their website is nothing but a broken map with no points on it. Were it not for the fact that their website appears to have been updated in the last year, and that they mention on the main page that they’re currently touring America and Europe trying to entice seed banks, there would actually be nothing on MTG Seeds’ website to indicate that they are in search of customers or wholesale partners. It looks like they’d like potential collaborators to contact them using the form on their Contact Us page, but a mention of the folks they’re hoping will get in touch might help. If you’re looking to get a hold of MTG Seeds, they can apparently be found at dispensaries in California. This site seems to have some high quality seeds in unique strains. However, when close to half of the categories that make up your main site are empty or broken, and there’s no indication of when more information is coming, the place starts to feel a little empty. It’s possible that the covid19 pandemic has put a wrench in their plans to tour around the world with their selection, though you’d think they’d put a note about it if that were the case. In any case, MTG seeds seem like ones not to be missed.
